Laser Cladding

Laser Cladding process can be used for newly manufactured and repair jobs. Laser Cladding process is used for applications viz. Oil and Gas industry, Construction, Automotive, Aerospace etc

OD Cladding

We at PMMT have capability of doing any complicated cladding profiles as per customer’s requirement.

ID Cladding

We at PMMT have the capacity to fill the demand for high-quality inner-diameter overlays through ID-cladding. We can ID-cladd as small as 1.5″ diameter and 20″ deep or from 2.5″ diameter upto 60″ deep from one end.

Advantages of PMMT Laser Cladding

  1. Laser cladding automation provides high degree of reproducibility.
  2. Such metallic bonding between overlay and base material which does not chip off.
  3. High precision and high quality.
  4. Minimal dilution with the base metal
  5. Very low heat input in the base material. Heat Affected Zone (HAZ) as minimum as 0.040”
  6. No porosity
  7. Excellent control of the layer thickness.

Laser Hardening

We at PMMT have Laser hardening process which increases the surface hardness up to 55- 60HRC. Laser Heat Treatment precisely focuses Laser Beam directly onto the component ensuring case depth between 0.015” to 0.040” depending on the customer’s requirement. This is controlled by pyrometer. Ideally used for materials like 4140, 4145 and 4330V.

Benefits:
  1. As laser beam is focused, only the specific area is hardened and not the entire part.
  2. Hardening can be done in complex areas.
  3. There is no part bend during Hardening process.
  4. Post grinding is practically nil. Only polishing is required.

PLASMA SPRAY:

We do have facility for OD and ID Plasma Spray. ID Plasma Spray for minimum ID 4” for a length of 40” is possible.

PTA Coating

Plasma Transfer Arc (PTA) hardfacing is a method of depositing high quality Metallurgical fused deposits. Various alloys and carbide composites can be deposited on different substrates to achieve properties such as mechanical strength, wear and corrosion resistance. PTA hardfacing has significant advantages over traditional welding process such as OxyFuel (OFW) and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW).

Benefits:
  1. PTA automation provides high degree of reproducibility.
  2. Weld deposits are characterized by very low levels of inclusions, oxides and discontinuities.
  3. Post weld machining is significantly reduced as PTA produces smooth deposits.
  4. PTA parameters can be adjusted to provide a variety of deposits in thicknesses from 1.2 to 2.5 mm (0.05 to 0.10 in.) or higher. These can be deposited even by a single pass depending upon torch, powder and application.

Tip-Tig Welding

We at PMMT possess unique TIP-TIG welding equipment that dynamically slows down the weld solidification process and enlarges the fluid weld area. The TIP-TIG weld improves weld receptivity for higher weld deposition rates. Thus, resulting in faster TIP-TIG weld speeds and higher than normal TIP-TIG weld energy enables higher productivity benefits.

TIP-TIG equipment are used for stub welding, Inserts welding, Repair of corrosion, erosion wear and worn out surfaces.

Wire Coating

At PMMT we use wire coating underlayment as buffer layers for heavily damaged repair jobs which require heavy coatings.

Shot Peening

At PMMT we have a cold-working forced shot impacting process equipment which brings in plastic deformation to relieve stresses in components. This results in strengthening, increase in life and reduction in formation of sub-surface cracks on components.

Dechroming / Stripping System
For removing the existing coating of the rotors we have a stripping bath in which both Chrome and HVOF coating can be stripped off till the base material.

Grinding

At PMMT, we have automated OD and ID cylindrical grinding machines. We can grind different profiles as per customer requirements. We also have state of the art CNC Rotor Polisher machine to grind mud rotors at high precision.
